FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Individual Edition keeps one record of what a leader decided and who owes them what, built from the email and chat where the work already happens
Los Altos, Calif. November 3, 2026. Brief, the Executive Intelligence platform, today launched on Product Hunt. Its Individual Edition is open to leaders across North America in Open Beta, free while in beta, and Brief is private by architecture. Executives in the US, Canada and Mexico can sign in at trybrief.ai with their work account and start today, with no invitation needed. Leaders everywhere else can join the list, and will hear from Brief first when it opens where they are.
The Product Hunt launch follows the opening of the Open Beta on November 2, announced in CEO Larry Augustin's essay Decision to Done: Leadership Is Next. Co-founders Larry Augustin, Zac Sprackett and Clint Oram are on the Product Hunt page today to answer questions until the launch day ends at midnight Pacific.
Every leader hands out work on Monday and finds out weeks later whether it got done. Brief calls that distance the decision-to-done gap, and closes it. Brief reads the decisions and commitments already moving through a leader's email, calendar and chat, keeps track of who owes what, and follows each commitment until it's done. There is no tracker to fill in.
"AI has already moved the work from doing to deciding. Engineering, sales, and legal each got AI that makes them faster. Leadership is next," said Larry Augustin, co-founder and CEO of Brief. "Every shift I've lived through gave people back something they'd been carrying by hand. This one gives them back the follow-through."
What Brief does
- Catches the work. Brief finds decisions, commitments and tasks in email and chat, with no data entry.
- Carries every commitment. Each commitment is tracked with its owner, who it's owed to and its state, for weeks, and Brief closes it on its own when the evidence shows it's done. Brief tells a leader who owes them a follow-up, whether a customer replied or went quiet, and what was decided and why.
- Drafts the follow-through. Brief drafts the follow-up and sends it from the leader's own account when they approve.
- Works on the leader's terms. By default, nothing goes out without the leader's approval, and the leader decides, action by action, what Brief handles on its own.
Brief also prepares leaders for their meetings and 1:1s, sends a Daily Briefing each morning, and keeps the tasks it finds in sync with Todoist, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do and Slack Lists. Leaders can talk to Brief on the web, from a desktop or a phone's browser, and hear their morning brief read aloud.
Brief is private by architecture. Reading a leader's content is not something anyone at Brief can do in the ordinary course of their work.
Built with its first users
Brief's design partners and Early Access users put the first version to work on their real weeks and told the team plainly where it fell short. The Open Beta is built on what they found.
"The leaders who tried Brief first kept telling us the same thing. What they needed was to know that the work they delegated actually got done," said Clint Oram, co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Brief. "Brief keeps that record, so they don't have to chase it."
What comes next
Team Edition is coming: the shared record for a whole leadership team, where the person who owes a commitment and the person it's owed to both see it, and every commitment ties back to the decision behind it. Leadership teams that want to hear about it can get in touch at contact@trybrief.ai.

About Brief
Brief (trybrief.ai) is the Executive Intelligence platform. It owns whether the decisions, commitments, and goals a leader sets in motion carry through, so they walk into every conversation prepared. Brief reads the decisions and commitments already moving through a leader's email, calendar and chat, keeps track of who owes what, and makes sure the work carries through, with nothing to migrate. It ensures what gets decided, gets done. Brief is built by former SugarCRM leaders Larry Augustin, Zac Sprackett and Clint Oram, and backed by EPIC Ventures and Boulder Ventures. Individual Edition is in Open Beta: sign up for the beta now for free.
