A chief of staff keeps a leader's commitments from vanishing. That usually means hours a week reconstructing what was said, a tracker that drifts from reality by Wednesday, and a Monday agenda that misses whatever was not written down.
This is a working week in Brief for a chief of staff or executive assistant, in prompts that run today. Brief works from your own accounts: the threads you are on, the meetings you attend, the channels you are in and the tracker you keep. It does not read your principal's mailbox.
Before you start
These prompts assume your email and calendar are connected, and Slack or Microsoft Teams if your team works there. A prompt that names Excel, SharePoint, Salesforce or another outside system needs that system connected through Composio first. See Connecting Brief to other systems with Composio.
Each Ask Brief link opens chat with the prompt already typed in. Change the names to yours, then send it. A prompt that starts with "Create an agent" sets up an agent: type it once and it runs from then on.
Before the day starts
What changed overnight in the threads I'm on with the CEO and the leadership team, and what will the CEO ask me about first?
What you do before your principal's first coffee, in one question. Ask Brief
Plan my week: where I'm overcommitted, what the leadership meetings need from me, and where to protect two hours of focus.
A plan for the week, and Brief can block the focus time on your calendar for you. Uses the Plan My Week skill. Ask Brief
Into meetings
Build the agenda for Monday's leadership meeting: carry forward anything not closed last week, anything bumped, and every decision still waiting on the team.
The carry-forward the agenda you drafted the night before always misses. Ask Brief
Prep for my 1:1 with [name].
What is open between you in both directions, and what has happened since you last met. Uses the Prep for 1:1 skill. Ask Brief
Pull the transcript of yesterday's ops review from Teams and list every commitment and who made it, then add mine as tasks.
Commitments from a call you were not on, with yours on your task list. Needs Teams connected through Composio. Ask Brief
The inbox and the message stream
Where did we land on the vendor consolidation?
The daily where-did-we-land question, answered from the email, the meetings and the Topic that already gathers them. Ask Brief
Following through on what was delegated
Show me everything the CEO or I handed off in the threads I'm on in the last month that has no reply yet, grouped by person.
The waiting-on-others board, built from the messages instead of dragged by hand. Ask Brief
Open the leadership action tracker in SharePoint, compare it with what people actually said in email and meetings this week, and tell me which rows are wrong.
The tracker checked against reality rather than against itself. Needs Excel or SharePoint connected through Composio. Ask Brief
Update the status column in that tracker for the three rows you just confirmed are done.
Brief writes the cells directly, so enable only the write tools you mean to allow. Ask Brief
Draft a nudge to each owner of a red row, in my voice.
One draft per owner in your email drafts, ready for you to review and send. Uses the Draft in Voice skill. Ask Brief
End of the week
Write the Friday update to the leadership team: decisions made this week, commitments closed, and what's at risk next week.
The team update, written from the record. Uses the Status Report skill. Ask Brief
Write my week-in-review for the CEO: what was promised in the meetings and threads I was on, what hasn't been done, in order of who's waiting longest.
Your report to your principal, ordered by who has waited longest. Uses the Status Report skill. Ask Brief
