Operations runs across long projects and many handoffs. Context shifts all day, and the question underneath most of it is the same: who committed to what, and did it happen. The costliest gap is often the days between a decision and the person who has to carry it out picking it up.
This is a working week in Brief for a COO or operations leader, in prompts and agents that run today.
Before you start
These prompts assume your email and calendar are connected, and Slack or Microsoft Teams if your team works there. A prompt that names Excel, SharePoint, Salesforce or another outside system needs that system connected through Composio first. See Connecting Brief to other systems with Composio.
Each Ask Brief link opens chat with the prompt already typed in. Change the names to yours, then send it. A prompt that starts with "Create an agent" sets up an agent: type it once and it runs from then on.
Before the day starts
Create an agent called Morning Ops. Every weekday at 6:30, tell me what's due across my projects this week, what slipped yesterday, and which decisions are still waiting on someone.
A morning read on every project. It lands in the first daily brief after it runs, so set the time before your brief goes out. Ask Brief
Into meetings
Before the weekly ops review, list every decision we made in the last month, who it was handed to, and whether anything since shows it actually happened.
Decisions checked against what happened next, which is where the days get lost. Ask Brief
Pull the last three Fathom recordings with the [site] team and tell me what was promised and by whom.
Commitments from recorded calls, when you ask. Needs Fathom connected through Composio. Ask Brief
The inbox and the message stream
Create an agent called Supplier Watch. When anyone from these supplier domains emails me, tell me if it changes a delivery date or price, and if that affects a customer promise. [list the domains]
A push notification when a supplier writes, judged against the promises downstream of it. Ask Brief
Create an agent called Plant Escalations. When there's a new conversation in the #plant-ops Slack channel, tell me only if it needs a decision from me today.
One channel watched for you. If the plant works in Teams, the trigger works the same way, but the agent reports to you rather than replying in Teams. Ask Brief
Following through on what you delegated
Run a team health report on my direct reports: what I handed each of them, what's done, and where I'm the bottleneck.
A private read on your delegation, including where the work is waiting on you. Uses the Status Report skill. Ask Brief
Read the capital projects list in SharePoint and tell me which projects have an owner who hasn't mentioned them in email or a meeting in two weeks.
Silence as a signal, read across two systems. Needs SharePoint connected through Composio. Ask Brief
We agreed to move second shift to four tens. Pre-mortem the rollout and give me the three things to fix this week.
The failure modes of a decision already made, while there is still time to fix them. Uses the Pre-Mortem skill. Ask Brief
End of the week
Write my status report for the CEO: what moved, what's at risk, and what I need from them.
Your report up, written from the record. Uses the Status Report skill. Ask Brief
Pull the weekly KPI range from the Ops Dashboard workbook and add two sentences of context for each red number from this week's email and meetings.
The number and the reason behind it, together. Needs Excel connected through Composio. Ask it on Friday in chat, since an agent cannot read the workbook. Ask Brief
